Office Manager Volunteer
Archaeological Legacy Institute

Archaeological Legacy Institute is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization based in Eugene. Our streaming-media website has become the world's most popular web site, with annual traffic of about 6.5 million page views. ALI also produces The Archaeology Channel International Film and Video Festival, an annual cultural event in downtown Eugene. We currently work out of a home office and are looking for opportunities to move into commercial office space.

Hourly Commitment: At least 10 hours per week.

Job Purpose: To guide and manage daily office functions and activities through the application of standard efficient office management practices.

Description: Productivity in our office is seriously hampered because our Executive Director and our Administrative Assistant are continually called upon to handle routine office tasks such as filing, bill paying, bookkeeping, correspondence, and so forth while also trying to develop and manage programs and raise funds! We need office help! An Office Manager would improve and maintain the office infrastructure to support the activities of the others who work here. This is a chance to help accelerate the progress of a dynamic and growing nonprofit enterprise. You will be joining a dynamic and innovative team on a mission to create a unique media organization with worldwide influence. Your help here will have a direct impact on ALI's productivity and ability to pursue its public mission. And the experience you gain will be directly transferable to other office positions you may seek in the future.

Key Responsibilities: Filing, bill paying, bookkeeping, correspondence, answering the phone, scheduling, data management, research, and special assignments as needed.

Requirements: We are not too picky, but we do prefer people who have interest and some experience in office management. The more experience in office work the better, of course. We will train you in the day-to-day tasks so that you can take them on yourself with confidence.

To Apply: Contact Dr. Richard Pettigrew by telephone (345-5538) or e-mail:
rick@archaeologychannel.org
A resume is required.

Filming Hallmark’s “Valley of Light”

Filming Hallmark’s “Valley of Light”

Hallmark’s “Valley of Light” starring Chris Klein (“American Pie”, “We Were Soldiers”) and Gretchen Mol (“The Thirteenth Floor”, “Rounders”) was filmed in Clackamas and Marion counties in 2005. With the ability to work within the same time zone, Oregon is extremely attractive to Los Angeles-based studios and production companies. Oregon is also home to a wide variety of talented award-winning filmmakers such as Gus Van Sant, Mike Rich and Todd Haynes.
